For all teams, the first game VMI formula added each team's previous game location. So it calculated back to each teams' last game location from last season--2023.
Each teams' second game this season uses only the current season in the formula, so the VMI formula will be correct beginning with the second game for each team. Of course, some teams played their last game at their home stadium, so yesterdays' games calculated correctly for those teams.
For tournaments that are held at campus sites, the designated home team may be reversed, so that the VMI is correct for the venue, not the designation of home or visitor. Therefore the team VMI will be correct so that the anticipated player shooting adjustments to the elevation air density will reflect accurately.
For tournaments and MTE's at one location, the formulas are based on the venue elevation and the team's previous games and practice sessions--both home and road. For the teams that play more than 2 games at the tournament location, the formula will follow each team, so that the VMI's reflect reality.
